UCR PERMITS

UCR PERMITS

The Unified Carrier Registration is a federally-mandated program that requires trucking companies or individual truck owner operator motor carriers that travel interstate and internationally to register their business to obtain UCR Permits and pay an annual fee. The fee is paid based on the total number of vehicles in their fleet and must be paid in their base state. The registration must also be renewed at the end of every year.

HOW GLOBAL MULTI SERVICES CAN HELP YOU?

The UCR fee is paid every year once enrollment opens up which varies every year. At Global Multi Services, we are capable of helping you with all your registration process. WHO NEED TO REGISTER?

The UCR Registration is compulsory for all companies that operate motor carriers that haul freight over states and international lines. This includes freight forwarders, all private, for-hire brokers or exempt, and leasing companies. The revenue generated from the Unified Carrier Registration is used for the empowerment of motor carrier safety programs.

If you do not register for UCR Permit and your motor vehicle is caught driving across the state line, the vehicle could be detained by the officials. They could charge you a penalty fee and some fine and the amount varies depending on your base state.

HOW TO REGISTER IF YOUR STATE DOESN’T PARTICIPATE?

Forty-one states in the US are currently participating in the UCR program. The states that do not participate are Hawaii, Arizona, Wyoming, New Jersey, Florida, Nevada, Oregon, District of Columbia, Vermont, and Maryland. If your base state does not participate in the UCR program, you are required to apply for UCR Permit in the closest participating state to you.

HOW TO APPLY FOR UCR REGISTRATION?

You can apply for your UCR Registration online via the UCR website of your base state. After completing your registration, you may pay your registration fee using your MasterCard, Visa Card, or other cards.
